Fatty Montrose Takes a Bath:
Well here you go, loudmouth. You stood on the very top of your cage and screeched until I filled up your bathtub for you.
Oh wow, what a nice surprise! How in the world did you know that I've been dying for a bath??
*sigh*
Okay Mom, first things first: dunk the head....glub glub glub
Don't forget to hold your breath, Fat Man. You always end up sneezing for ten minutes after you dunk...
Look at me, Mom! I'm a submarine. Boop! Boop! Boop!
Yes, Monty. You're a submarine.
Look! Look! Now I'm a crocodile doing a DEATH ROLL -- just like on Crocodile Hunter! Are you watching, Mom? Are you WATCHING?!
Monty, you know that I'm watching. I'm taking the pictures and trying not to get soaked.
Whew. I've gotta take a minute, Mom. That death roll made me kinda loopy...
Hey there, bubba. Are you okay?
PSYCH!!! Ahahahahaha let's get the WHOLE KITCHEN wet!!! WHEEEEEEEEE!
Thanks a lot, Monty. Where's the mop?
Geez...why do you look so cranky? Are you mad at me? Look at how pretty and clean I am!
No, I'm not mad. Just a little...damp.
Great. Then pick me up and take me back to my cage. I'm all done and now it's naptime.
Uh, sure. I live to serve you, Chubs.
I know, Mommy. I know.
(This post was inspired by BadAunt's photo stories and Mr. Flapper!)

Ok, that is so insanely cute!! Do you have to heat his water to *just* the right temperature or he'll refuse to get in? ;-)

Oh heck no. If he's in the mood for a bath, he'll just jump right in no matter what the temperature. :)

Monty, you really know how to work the camera. Nice bath moves too - good work, and super cute.

This is great. We get to see it all and stay dry. ;-) Have you considered shooting video of Monty's bathtime? (My digital camera also shoots vid.) How about a Monty bathtime podcast? :-)

He is so cute from AFAR!

Girl, that is hilarious.

He looks so HAPPY!
When I was a kid I rescued a baby sparrow, and when it got a bit older it used to like bathing in our hands. If you ran a trickle of water into your cupped hands, he'd get all excited, then hop in and ... make a hell of a mess of the kitchen. It was SUCH FUN.
My mother wasn't quite so impressed.

I had a budgie called Joey, used to love his baths too. Also would use a spray aswell.

What a beautiful bird! And such a ham for the camera. Great photos!

I love, love, love your narration. The photo series alone are cute but the conversation make it spectacular!

I'm here from cuteoverload and this reminds me of when my mom had her lorikeet. Otis though had to empty the dish before his bath was complete. Currently all that she has are larger birds and their baths are done by a spray bottle set on mist.

um, how way so too uber cute are you and your birdie, Monty-boy!?!

Awww! Brings back memories of the quaker I used to have -- mine was "fatty" too (Gordito, "little fat guy" in Spanish)! Adorable -- thanks for posting!

Your camera got some great shots of water-in-motion... what kind of camera is it? I'm going to be shopping for a new digital this coming year, and am taking other peoples' experiences into consideration in my choice.
Great photos! I want a bird, but I have 3 kitties — and i'm not young enough to outlive even a conure (and my son said he HATES birds, so there's no possibility there of bequeathing him one in my will!).

This is so adorable. I too found your link from CuteOverload. It's nice to see that someone else is as crazy about animals as I am. My 27 y.o. son is always going on and on about that I shouldn't anthropomorphize http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=anthropomorphize
animals. And that I'm a bit obsessed with C.O.
So....what's wrong wif dat?

fatty montrose is the best bird name i have ever heard.

So cute! Our cockatiel's favorite bathtime activity is when she bites the water streams in the shower. Maybe I should try her on a nice casserole dish.

Hehehehe! It reminds me of my lizard taking his lizard bath! ...except once he's done, or sometimes during, with his bath, he poops, so it's not quite as cute:P
But he does scrub at his little head, which is adorable :)

Oh, such cuteness!! I wish my little cockatiel loved baths as much! He always gets grumpy when it's bathtime. Yet he always seems grudgingly happy when he's all nice and clean afterwards. ;)

Absolutely hilarious. We had a parakeet when I was a kid, I don't remember any baths. Bird shit everywhere, sure. But no baths.

I think you should show Fatty Montrose this:

And see if he wants to compete. :-)

lol, that's adorable! =) I have a quaker parrot too! His name is Pickles, but he doesnt like baths as much as Fatty; he likes mists better. Quaker's are so cute, and they've got LOTS of personality!

Whoa. I have a quaker and the SAME casserole dish that I use as his bathtub. This is too weird.
